If you work hard and play by the rules, you should be able to be able to put food on your table and a roof over your head. Some advocate for a strong social safety net for people struggling. I too believe we must provide for people who cannot provide for themselves. But I believe, given a choice, people would prefer to provide for themselves.
The best social program is a good paying job.
